Apples: a classroom tradition

Many teachers enjoy doing a fall unit on apples. Our New England Apples brochure is available for your use. It folds out as a poster, and is full of information about how to use, store and handle apples, with descriptions of the most popular varieties grown in the region.

If you are interested in our New England Apples brochure, please call 413-247-9966, write to us at P.O. Box 41, Hatfield, MA 01038, or e-mail us at info@newenglandapples.org.

Thank you for your interest in apples, and best wishes for a happy and productive fall season with your students.

Here are several articles about how apples are grown and harvested for you to include in an apple curriculum:

Please share with us your experiences with these and other ideas that you develop yourselves.

See our nutrition page for further information on the benefits of eating apples.

Books in the New England Apple Library are available for borrowing.
