Spigold

DESCRIPTION

The Spigold is a large, sugary, crisp, and juicy apple, similar to the Golden Delicious. It is ready for picking in late September to November, and it keeps for about three months.

HISTORY

A cross between Northern Spy and Golden Delicious, the Spigold was first developed in 1962 at the New York State Agricultural Experimental Station in Geneva.
