Lady

DESCRIPTION

The Lady is small but intense! Its bright white flesh is crisp and juicy, and it has a hint of citrus flavor. Some liken it to the flavor of dried fruit. The peel color, red and yellowish green, varies depending on the amount of sunlight it gets. Ripening begins in late October and continues through December. Because it can withstand a freeze, it is used in Christmas wreaths - hence, its other name, Christmas Apple.

HISTORY

The Lady dates back to the 1600s and Louis XIII. Some believe it may have been grown in ancient Rome.
