Hudson's Golden Gem has heavy russeting on its gold-green peel, and its flesh has a sweet and juicy pear-like flavor. This is a good choice for the amateur grower. Harvest begins early to mid October.

Hudson's Golden Gem was discovered as a seedling at Hudson Nurseries in Tangent, Oregon in 1931.
