Orleans Reinette

DESCRIPTION

The Orleans Reinette ('reinette' means spots of russeting) has a few red patches over a golden peel. The flavor is nutty and sweet with a flesh that is on the dry side. It ripens in mid-October.

HISTORY

Most likely this apple hails from 1700s France, but its heritage is not completely clear.
