Sweet Sixteen

DESCRIPTION

Sweet Sixteen is a red apple with fine-textured, yellow flesh; crisp and juicy, this variety is exceptionally sweet with moderate acid and an almost vanilla or cherry-like flavor. It is an all-purpose apple that ripens early and has good storage quality.

HISTORY

Sweet Sixteen, an offspring of Northern Spy, was introduced in 1978 by the University of Minnesota's Horticulture Center.
