|Discovered||Early 1800s Sutton, Massachusetts|
Sutton is a medium-size apple, rich red in color with patches of green. It is crisp and juicy, and its sweet flavor has hints of vanilla.
Also known as Sutton Beauty and Morris Red, Sutton was named for Sutton, Massachusetts, where it was discovered in the early 1800s. Some believe Sutton may be a seedling of Hubbardston Nonesuch. The trees are considered difficult to grow.
