DESCRIPTION

Chandler is a large apple, pinkish red with yellow patches or striping. Its flesh is crisp and juicy, and it has good flavor, sweet with a little tartness.

HISTORY

Chandler's history is not certain - it may have originated in Connecticut, or on the farm of Francis Richardson in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and later introduced by General Samuel Chandler of Lexington in the early 1800s.
