DESCRIPTION

Mother is a beautifully large, red apple with some yellow patches. Its flavor has been compared to the better-known Esopus Spitzenburg, although it may fall short in flavor and storage quality.

HISTORY

Also known as Queen Anne, Mother was discovered in Bolton, Massachusetts, before 1845. It used to be a standard in many old orchards, valued for its beauty and crisp, rich, sweet-tart flesh.
