The popular Jonagold is a handsome apple with an orangish-red blush. This crisp and juicy apple is less acidic than Golden Delicious and has a honey-like flavor. Look for Jonagolds in early to mid-October.


Jonagold is a cross between Golden Delicious and Jonathan, and it was first developed at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, New York in 1943, then later introduced in 1968.
